The Best Lightweight Makeup

The No Makeup-Makeup look is still in! As Elle is reporting, Summer of 2021 will continue the trend of lightweight makeup with an upgrade to it. Elle says, “It’s all about lightweight base makeup and next to nothing skin, which is always great for warm weather and mask-wearing.” Since mask wearing is still in the near future, I’ve listed some of the best lightweight options for summer.

All of these brands offer great medium or full coverage foundation I have tried and love, but I’m excited to add their lightweight options to my makeup rotation.

  1. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna- Ease Drop Blurring Skin Tint

I recently bought this in the Sephora sale and want to say this makeup is worth the influencer hype. It is so lightweight on the skin that it makes you feel as if you’re not wearing any makeup. It also has a great buildable coverage, while still feeling light on the skin. It has a lighter coverage then the Fenty Matte Foundation, but it still has enough if you’re looking to wear it to work all day. I love this foundation and was so happily surprised. I thought the coverage wouldn’t be as good and it possibly would break my sensitive skin out, but it has quickly become one of my favorite.

2. Clinique- Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

The first foundation I ever bought was Clinique. It definitely holds a special place in my hear over the years. This makeup, however, a little heavier than the others, has great coverage. What’s great about this makeup is you can use one product for both your foundation and concealer without needing a setting powder if you do choose. I will say for me as medium colored shade, it can be difficult to get exactly the right color match with Clinique and is the only downside to the brand. This foundation will be great for long wear though and stays really nicely. It also is great for long lasting under a mask and has never caused breakouts for me unlike other foundation.

2. Estée Lauder- Double Wear Light

The regular Double Wear is my go to for foundation for going out or to an event. I love it for a full coverage foundation, however, there Double Wear Light is just as good. I was looking for a foundation to wear daily to work that will be light enough to go under the mask, but will stay on throughout the day. I love this option as it more hydrating then the normal double wear. It’s also a great option for mature skin as well.

3. Tarte HydroFlex Serum Foundation

My favorite medium foundation is Tarte’s Face Tape Foundation. I used to love their Shape Tape Foundation that has since been discontinued, which lead me to try out Face Tape. I am a big fan of Tarte’s products. This foundation states its medium coverage, but I will say it’s much less coverage compared to their other foundations. It much more lightweight compared to the Face Tape at least. What is cool about this particular foundation is it’s a serum based foundation, which mixes makeup with skin care. It falls under the lightweight category becaus eit does leave a much more natural look. This is perfect for the No makeup-Makeup look. Right now QVC has this particular foundation with the brush included in the price.
